Pigeon
farming is one of the most popular and profitable farming system in the world.
The main target of pigeon farming is to nursing pigeon for sale. Pigeon meat is
very testy and highly nutritious. Two types of pigeon are sold from a pigeon
farm. One is for pigeon meat, and another is for farming in another farm. To
supply pigeon to another farm, normally a couple of pigeon is sold together
which contains one male and one female pigeon. There are several reasons for
which pigeon farming is so profitable and popular around the world. The reasons

Capital for Pigeon Farming:
Pigeon
farming requires very low capital. There is very few farming system, which
requires so little capital as in pigeon farming. Anyone can start pigeon
farming with a small number of pigeon couple, and can extend the farm day by
day with reproduction system.
Food Cost for Pigeon:
Food
cost is one of the main costs in any type of farming. But in pigeon farming this
cost is very little. Pigeon eat grains, and grain is available at a cheaper
price in every nearby market. A pigeon eats very little amount every day.
Therefore, the cost for food is very low in pigeon farming.
Regeneration of Pigeon:
After
taking birth, normally a pigeon becomes adult in 5-6 months and female becomes
able to lay egg. Their regeneration process starts from then and circle
continuous in almost every month with 2 eggs each time. So, in every month, the
farmer gets two young pigeon from each couple of adult pigeon.
Pigeon House:
Pigeons can be easily kept into a small house.
So, a pigeon house has no need to be large in size. For this small size, the
cost of making a pigeon house is also very low. Even the raw materials for
pigeon house are also very cheap and available everywhere.
Demand for Pigeon Meat:
As
pigeon meat is a highly nutritious food, it has a huge demand in the market.
This demand is not seasonal; it remains as usual around all the year.
Price of Pigeon:
Pigeons
are always sold at a good price in the market. Pigeon meat demand remains all
around the year. But, there are some breeds of pigeon which are really exclusive.
People don’t farm this type for meat. It is farmed only to sell as a pet bird.
The price of these pigeon is very high. Even one couple may be sold over
700-800 dollar depending on the demand.
